It appears to me people are still posting their advertisements about their online businesses (in this forum), and not talking about their EXPERIENCES with them. Sometimes it seems to me this whole online business thing is not about support at all, it is about desperation and making money without regard to people -- try to get as many people to your site, but if they have questions, ignore them, and just promote more stuff -- and suddenly we are lost in this huge, empty world of money without questions, human interaction, or even a sense of good quality of product or opportunity.

Will anyone reply? Or is the only reason we're here to make a buck?

I understand the magnitude of the need for exposure in one's online business opportunities. I'm working with that. I've been marketing via one website to the tune of about 15 million emails, and have had NO RESPONSE from them (perhaps a few hits, but I really have no way of knowing). Some are, no doubt, duplicates. But this seems pretty ridiculous to me. I even wonder of the emails they claim they're sending are actually getting sent. But how does one stay encouraged when this is the response to 15 million emails?

I am sure I need to explore a vast number of other resources.

But I would guess that the answer I get here is this:

"Check out my website and the FREE information I have for you about online marketing -- it's the best thing you'll ever do and it will do WONDERS for your online business!" I know you will probably make money from me linking to your FREE information. And who knows, I might do it or I might not.

Or you will offer something to me for money.

Which is fine. You have a right to do that.

But I am looking for people who really want to talk about this, and not push their marketing scheme on me. Are you that person?

If so, come to my website -- it's free! (Just kidding!)

I am new here and your question is one of the reasons that I joined. And what you stated is everybody trying to promote their own business. That is so true in just about anything you do own the net.

Most people would rather promote their business to you instead of actually listening to see if you may have something to help them benefit in their marketing.

You and a few others feel the same I see it's not all about the money it's about building relationships and sharing knowledge with one another.

I was told that social networking was to be the next place to be on the Internet but I have come to the conclusion that it is worse then safelists and Traffic exchanges in those you see open advertising and know what to expect in social networking you join to make friends and network together but it's the very opposite. As you stated everyone promoting to you through the back door.

I myself look for honest people to network with and to obtain the same goals together.

One of the things that I have found out if you see the same people joining every social netwok there is stay away because they aren't earning and don't have a clue how to.

Someone posted here -- Nancy is her name and it may be on the home page -- she works for Mentoring For Free (google it) and they literally DO mentoring FOR FREE -- and do say "it's about relationships," among many other great things.

And I get NOTHING for saying this, except the joy of sharing with real people who are just like me.

Blessings,

Hi Mary.
This is exactly what I needed to know. An explanation on how to approach and work from starch. I am a newbie very new just about a month old trying to figure all these mess and bull, trying to know and learn where the rope begins. It's kind of amusing how everyone offer to help but never tells you where to start.I got scam already but I refused to let my dreams die.So I will continue to look for the secret formula again and again.....

Hello Dorothy,
Don't feel like only the lonely when it comes to being scammed. I'm sure it has happened to the best of us at least once. In order to not let it happen again, one had to do their homework. I have found that putting a name or business in quotations in a Google search is very effective. I also put the word scam after the name, company or phrase. This has helped me uncover the truth about the online endeavor I am seeking to join. I also look at many forums to see what others experiences are with that company. I have found two legitimate businesses that I'm working today. Will I get rich over night? Absolutely not! I didn't expect to, but I do plan on being financially secure in 4 or 5 yrs. That beats working for someone else for 30 yrs and still ending up with nothing. There is an eBook called "Success in 10 Steps" that has really opened my eyes and you might want to get a copy and read it for yourself. It is usually free and I have bought some of the hard backs for $5. I think this will help you out. Hope you find what you are looking for and that you will be successful at it. Have a pleasant weekend!

Hello Mary Jo,
First I hope you are still checking this tread. I feel the same way you do about everyone promoting their businesses all the time. There are places to do that in this community and this shouldn't be one of them. I am all about building relationships and then helping people find their niche. We are all different with different talents. What might work for me might not necessarily work for you and vice verse. I don't know if you have found your niche yet but checking an opportunity out thoroughly is the smart thing to do before jumping in feet first. I have been taken since my ventures on the web but not any more. I have learned to do my homework and I have been taught this by some very experienced mentors. I am thankful that they were willing to spend their time with me and teach me their strategies. I remember one of the first eBooks I read that truly helped me see the light. It was "Success in 10 Steps." It is a short 94 page book that makes a whole lot of sense and is useful for whatever you are seeking to do. Since reading that book and others, I have found two businesses that I am working and finding much pleasure in as well. I am able to help others put some extra income in their pockets with any or very minimal cost to them. The real cost is dedication, effort, sacrifice and determination on their part. If they are willing to do their share, then they will succeed in these endeavors. Hope you will discover your online calling soon if you haven't already. Thanks for this much needed discussion topic!

MLM is a business... but it shouldn't be the business of selling business. It should be the business of selling a product that people want and need... and the opportunity for them to make some money selling it themselves.
